  10. Set-up procedure:
  11.  
  12.      1. Set up the hardware:
  13.           A. Assemble the Macintosh and disk.
  14.           B. Try running HyperCard.
  15.           C. Connect the modem and phone line.
  16.           D. Try running a terminal program,
  17.                call another BBS with it.
  18.  
  19.      2. Folders:
  20.           A. Create a folder for the stacks;
  21.                call it "HyperBBS".
  22.           B. Create a folder inside the HyperBBS
  23.                folder to hold uploaded files;
  24.                call it "Uploads".
  25.  
  26.      3. Files:
  27.           A. Put all the HyperBBS stacks in the
  28.                "HyperBBS" folder.
  29.           B. Make four copies of the "Generic
  30.                Messages Stack" and name them:
  31.                     "General Messages"
  32.                     "What's Cooking"
  33.                     "Technical"
  34.                     "HyperCard disc."

  38.      4. Boot HyperBBS by double-clicking on the
  39.           Home stack in the "HyperBBS" folder.

  41.      5. Click on the "Begin Local Operation" button
  42.           and try out the BBS locally; make sure
  43.           everything works OK. You can login with
  44.           a new user name or use the name "Sysop"
  45.           with the password "Sysop password".

  47.      6. Click on the "Go to UserList" button and
  48.           change the password for login name
  49.           "Sysop" to something only you know.
  50.  
  51.      7. Login locally again, and change the new user
  52.           login, pre-login, and post-login messages,
  53.           and the titles of the message sections.
  54.  
  55.      8. If you have a 2400 baud modem, check the
  56.           checkbox on the second card of the Home
  57.           stack.
  58.  
  59.      9. Click on the "Begin On-line Operation" button
  60.           to actually start up the BBS.
  61.  
  62.      10. Have a friend call the BBS and check it out.
